Butz Gets What He Asked For

A Keegan Middleton goal gave Gorleston Reserves their first home win of the season.

"A result we definitely needed after last weeks lack lustre performance." Said gaffa Scott Butler afterwards. "I asked for a reaction from the squad and I got it against a very hard working and resilient Cromer.

"I still feel our usual free flowing football from previous seasons hasn't quite clicked in to place yet, but was a very hardworking professional performance.

"Everyone put in a shift and did the messy side of the game really well today to get the 3 points and they'll be plenty of games in this division where we will need to manage the game well and grind out the result and the squad is adapting to that.

"Huge thanks to the home support we received today.

"Special mention to Paul Case who stepped in today, made a great save and was a huge part of today's result. I hope to be able to announce a new Goalkeeper to the club this week."

The Reserves are now up to eighth, just six points behind the leaders. Next week they have a cup match away at Buxton.
