Tough to Take for Reserves
By David Hardy
Reserves gaffer Scott Butler said his side got what they deserved in the defeat at Hingham.
"Another tough one to take," he said "but got exactly what we deserved after a very lack lustre first half performance.
"Unfortunately too many individual errors are being punished at the moment and, defensively, we have been poor this season so far and that’s not just the back four but collectively as a unit and again that’s what cost us again this weekend, along with conceding goals at vital times.
"But we don’t dwell on it, we learn from it, but we learn fast! with the quality we have within this squad and the quality we have added in the last week or so I still believe in the squad and with the extra fire in the belly of people now writing us off, commenting we’ve found our level and even making bets against us with mates then I expect that things turn around very soon, but we have to learn that it’s a difficult league, and there is no easy 3 points, we have to be on it from the moment we get to the games.
"It’s a squad that has won 97 games in 114 winning 5 trophies from a possible 9 and no matter what level your playing at that takes some doing, winning is a habit, I have no reason not to believe in the lads and I’m hoping that writing this squad off as some are, will give them that extra kick to get back to winnings way and turn it round to be another successful season!
"Nothing is won or lost this early but we can’t allow the weekends to keep drifting away.
"We go again Saturday at home to Cromer."
